Program Requirements
Personal Requirements
- 1Age, language (CLB 5 or higher), and education requirements
- 2Minimum personal net worth of CAD $600,000
- 3Business ownership or senior management experience
- 4Minimum 65 points on selection factors
Business Requirements
- 1Minimum investment of CAD $250,000 (excluding working capital)
- 2Create at least 2 full-time jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- 3Own at least 33.33% and actively manage the business
- 4Business must be of economic benefit to New Brunswick
Economic Benefit
Businesses that demonstrate significant economic benefits may receive priority processing.

Investment Details
- 1Minimum CAD $250,000 investment in eligible assets (e.g., business premises, equipment, initial inventory)
- 2Excludes working capital (e.g., rent, wages) and personal use items
- 3Limits: Premises/improvements (25%), inventory (50%), professional services (4% or CAD $10,000), vehicle (5% or CAD $15,000)
Purchasing an Existing Business
- Must have operated continuously for 3 years by the same owner (Canadian citizen or permanent resident)
- Purchased at fair market value with proven net profit for 2 of the last 3 years
- Maintain existing staff employment on similar terms
